Maze Runner 5

Pg. 36-58

The Maze Runner

2/28/11

Thomas gets woken up very early and sent to a window where he sees a cow sized vicous looking beast. Then he goes on his tour. A little it in a buzzer rings and they say it means someone is coming up in the box that Thomas came up on. Everyone is shocked to find out that it is a girl. When Thomas comes over she says everything is going to end and then drops dead with her hand up. They find a peice of paper in her hand and it says “She’s The Last One. Ever.”

The Maze Runner 4

Thomas finds out that there is a maze around the Glade. He sees these people called runners coming back from the maze. He also, starts to see the doors close. Thomas has this really weired feeling that he's been to the maze before and he tells Chuck he wants to be a runner. However, Chuck says Thomas should forget it and he will never be a runner.

Gally comes up to Thomas and says that he has been stung and while he was going through the changing he saw Thomas. He says Benny, who is going through the changing now will see Thomas too. Gally tells Thomas to go up the stairs and Thomas sees Benny going through the changing which is extremely nasty. Chuck doesn't give many answer to Thomas but he does tell him that the giant walls are actually doors that close every night.

Thomas meets Chuck who is nice and explains some to him. Thomas also hears a boy screaming and Chuck says he will live but he is just in a lot of pain because he is getting stung by the greivers. Chuck tells about how everyone forgets the same stuff. Thomas starts to get kind of mad because no one will tell him anything.

Thomas, who appears to be the main character, finds himself in a dark elevator that he rides upward in for a long time. Then when he finally gets to the top he is greeted by many boys who say "Welcome to the Glade." Thomas looks around and he sees he is in a courtyard surrounded by 4 giant cement walls that have slits down the middle of them. They try to tell Thomas about the Glade but he doesn't really unerstand so they are going to tell him on the tour tomarrow.

Katniss had energy but loses it when she sees people hiring bones in a mass grave. When Katniss gets home she sees Prim's cat Buttercup. Katniss gets so sad and angry because the cat really makes her remeber Prim. Katniss then realizes the good in the cat and things turn for the better again. She starts hunting and making a book of people that can't be forgotten and more people come to 12. In the end Katniss decides that who she really loves is Peeta. They have kids and Katniss fears the day when she will have to tell her kids all of the terrible things that happened in the past.

Katniss sees Snow, feels bad for him, and therefore she doesn't assassinate him. However when she points her arrow upward she ends up shooting Coin. Katniss shot coin because she knew that the bomb that killed Prim was Coins bomb not Snows. They take her down to her room in the training center where she decides to kill herself by not eating. Katniss gets taken to 12 and sits in the same chair for a very long time until Peeta comes and plants primrose around Katniss's house. Then it seems she feels fine again as she goes out hunting in a cheerful mood.

Katniss finds snow sitting in the rose garden, and he tells her Gale actually sent the bombs that killed Prim and almost Katniss. Katniss thinks about this, but finally she decides to consult a drunken Haymitch. Now it is assasination day and Katniss's prep team comes and preps her for the execution of Snow. Then the victors vote and they vote to execute Snow and then hold a hunger games with Capitol kids to get revenge.

Katniss realizes that the captured Gale doesn't have his nightlock, so the Capitol could easily torture him. There is a barrier of kids blocking the way into the mansion, but when they receive parachutes, most explode. Then the medics come rushing in, Prim is one of them, and then the of the packages explode. Katniss is totally burned up but the doctors save her, and Coin informs her that Snow is still Katniss's to kill. However Katniss cannot talk anymore because of her emotional trauma. Katniss, after mostly healing, goes to a place and finds that it is where they grow Snows roses.

Katniss and her squad are going to take action to kill snow but they can't think of a way to get him out of his house so that they can kill him. The rebels make a big advance but Katniss is still in Tigris's cellar. They get redesigned by Tigris and start moving out. Cressida and Pollux go first, then Gale and Katniss, and finally Peeta who is fully prepared to sacrifice himself to create a distraction. After going onto the street Katniss realizes the rebels are already there and she gets caught in the crossfire of a battle. After a horrible pod takes out the ground Gale has to swing into a house where white gloved hands take him.

Katniss never finds out who the lady was but she doesn't really care. They go into the closets and blend in with the crowd that still exists deep in the Capitol. They go to the not very popular store of Tigris an old stylist and she let's them hide in her basement. They get a good night sleep and then Katniss admits to lieing when she said her mission was to kill Snow. Apperently everyone else already knew though.

Peeta says that he should kill himself because he could be tortured, but the squad won't let him so he comes along to the center of the Capitol. They have to take the maze of multilevel underground tunnels to get to the center because of all the pods above the ground. Pollux is a big help to the squad underground because he has been there before. Soon after they get in the tunnels though Snow sends Mutts after them. The Mutts kill all but five of the squad in a frantic battle in the tunnel. Then Katniss get above ground welcomed by a lady that she has to kill immediately.
