Katniss thinks about Gale, who just said he loved her and then got angry and left, for a while. Then she goes back to her house. When she gets home she decides to walk Peeta to town where she tells him about her plan to run into the woods and he says he will come. Then Katniss sees what is happening in the square, there is a new peacekeeper and he is whipping Gale for poaching illegaly. After the whipping is done the unconcious Gale is taken to Katniss's mom to be cared for.
